I hunt. I gather. I use what I have to obtain what I need. I crawl, hugging the ground, and focus. Keeping my eye on the prize.
My father walked the tundra as recreation – foot mileage. His father did the same. He taught me which way to go, and I follow his knowledge. He memorized the directions from his father.
“You’re going to school”, my father said. He said the same to my older brothers.
“You need your credentials”, he’d specify. Obedience without grumbling, these are characteristics I have adapted through my Early Honors adoption. Perseverance and humility, two more I have uncovered along the way.
I envision the cap and gown. I need to set the example and follow my word. I have received the instruction and direction. I have the resources, the support, and the time as an offering. I am without excuse.
