October 10th marked APU’s 6th annual Indigenous Peoples Day celebration. This was APU’s first in-person Indigenous Peoples Day celebration since 2019. This year we welcomed performances by the Alaska Native Heritage Center, Alaska Native Cultural Charter School, and Ida’ina Keljeshna (Dena’ina). In addition to the fantastic performers that joined us, we also welcomed the following guest speakers: Janelle Vanasse, APU President, Curtis McQueen (Tlingit), and Crystal Leonetti (Yupik). Additional guests for this year included Molly of Denali from Alaska Public media.
