Overview
The Health Occupations programs at APU integrate various Registered Apprenticeships in Alaska and academic credit, resulting in either an Undergraduate Certificate or Associate of Applied Science.
Based on workforce needs, APU developed the Health Occupations programs in conjunction with the Alaska Primary Care Association and the Alaska Department of Labor.
In as little as two semesters, Health Occupations students in applicable Registered Apprenticeship programs can complete the academic coursework components to earn an Associate of Applied Science from APU.
Degree Fit
Individuals who are currently enrolled in or have completed a Registered Apprenticeship in an affiliated field may consider pursuing APU’s Health Occupations program.
Depending on the apprenticeship, students may be able to complete the APU academic coursework requirement in two semesters, based on full-time enrollment. Coursework at APU is offered through a variety of delivery methods including, campus-based, distance, and hybrid options. Daytime and evening course options are also available depending on the course and program requirements.
