Short fiction by Assistant Professor Rosanne Pagano has been accepted for publication in Alaska Woman Speak, the Anchorage-based literary magazine.
Pagano’s entry, “Raven Discovers Tweets,” responded to a call for writing on the topic “Social/Social Media.” The story is scheduled for publication in the Winter 2017 issue.
“This little fable of mine imagines a time when even Raven – Alaska’s trickster – could keep his big beak shut,” Pagano said. “Everything changes the day he learns that people will accept a convenient lie if it’s said often enough and loud enough.”
Pagano is a writer, editor and writing coach who has taught at APU since 2005. Fiction written during her sabbatical year in 2015 won first place in an international contest based in Montreal. Her writing last appeared in Alaska Women Speak in 2016. Her work was also recently featured in the summer issue of Forum, the magazine of the Alaska Humanities Forum. The Winter issue of Alaska Women Speak will be on sale soon at area bookstores.
