I am a Yupik Eskimo from the village of Koliganek located on the Nushagak River. I received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I was an elementary teacher in rural schools for 6 years before switching gears. For the past 6 years I worked as a behavioral health case manager at a tribal health organization. My family commercial fishes in Bristol Bay each summer. I enjoy subsistence activities which include berry picking, putting up smoked salmon strips and canning fish. Living in Alaska provides so many exciting adventures and opportunities.
