MBA, CHAE
The path to becoming a member of APU’s faculty has been a long one for me. I had high hopes when I started college right out of high school but it took me three universities and 20 years to earn a Bachelor’s Degree. It was APU that made it possible and I never forgot how that achievement made me feel and how it changed my life.
I went on to earn an MBA at APU and wanted to fulfill a life-long dream of becoming a teacher. My passion is to help other adults who were, like me, wanting to finish their college degree and just need some guidance to get there.
I began teaching at Alaska Pacific University as an adjunct professor in 1998. In 2007 I became a full-time faculty member in the Institute of Business and Public Policy. I love that I get to be part of students’ journeys to earning that degree and being able to open those doors that were previously closed to them.
Professional certifications in hospitality accounting (CHAE) and technology (CHTP) have given my education depth and discipline. I am a certified trainer in the Strength Deployment Inventory, a member of the Sigma Beta Delta honor Society and current Director of the Institute of Business and Public Policy at Alaska Pacific University.
I smile every day that I come on campus because I get to work with the best students in the world and help them achieve their dreams just as I did.
