Alaska Tilth depends on community support to continue its important work combating hunger and strengthening the Alaskan food system. The financial contribution of individual donors puts our food into the hands of more families in need, and provides the opportunity to train more new growers in agriculture rooted in sustainability and service.
At present, 95% of all food purchased in Alaska is produced out of state for a yearly cost of $1.9 billion annually. Donations to Alaska Tilth are leveraged to support new farmers, and empower people with the tools to eat locally, and seasonally, which can capture a greater percentage of those sales while creating jobs and preserving our agricultural heritage.
