Title IX Compliance
Title IX of the Educational Amendments Act of 1972 (“Title IX”) specifically states that “[n]o person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program receiving Federal financial assistance.”
Statement of Title IX Compliance
Alaska Pacific University is committed to providing a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living, and working environment for all members of the University community. APU does not tolerate discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, national origin, religion, age, disability, sex or gender, or any other protected characteristic. In accordance with the provisions of Title IX, APU does not discriminate on the basis of sex or gender in any of its education or employment programs and activities.
APU has established an Interim Anti-Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Policy and APU Title IX Grievance Procedures that prohibits sexual harassment and other forms of sexual misconduct and provides a process for reporting, investigating, and deciding alleged violations. The policy and procedure also identify important resources available to members of the APU community.
