EPA has asked the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) to collaborate on this Environmental Leadership Summit to provide AA and NHPI community leaders and potential applicants the opportunity to learn more about historic funding opportunities and technical assistance made available through President Biden’s Investing in America agenda and the Inflation Reduction Act, while also developing and deepening community-based partnerships. Since the National Association of Pasifika Organizations (NAOPO) is bringing together community partners from across the nation for their Pacific Health Gathering in Anchorage, Alaska from September 29th to October 1st, EPA would like to host its Summit the day after, on October 2nd, to ensure the EPA Summit is accessible to AA and NHPI communities. Anchorage is an ideal location due to its high Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, American Indian, and Alaska Native population, and high rates of leadership in climate justice. This event requires prior registration to attend.
