Last week, several APU students showcased their musical talents in the annual APU Spring Ensemble performance. The ensemble is the culmination of a class taught by Assistant Professor of Music, Eric Redding.
It was evident, from their colorful costumes to their enthusiasm for the songs, that the student musicians were having fun, and so was the audience! Members of the audience clapped along to performances ranging from lively jazz music to a David Bowie tribute.
Every song was hang picked by one of the students in the Ensemble, and all of the students took turns performing with different instruments. One student, who performed on voice, keyboard, and trumpet, explained that Professor Redding encouraged them to perform with at least 3 instruments. While learning to play several instruments during one semester is challenging, the Ensemble musicians rose to the challenge!
