Alaska Pacific University is scheduled for its next comprehensive accreditation evaluation April 8-10, 2015. The evaluation will be conducted by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, one of the six regional accrediting agencies approved by the U.S. Department of Education, and the one having responsibilities for oversight of colleges and universities in the Pacific Northwest. Alaska Pacific University’s last comprehensive evaluation was in the spring of 2006 and its accreditation status was last reaffirmed by the Commission in August 2012.
The purpose of a comprehensive evaluation is to review and evaluate the performance, integrity, and quality of educational institutions that entitles them to the confidence of its peers, constituencies, and general public. This notice is an invitation to send comments regarding the institution’s qualification for continued accreditation. Comments are accepted only when submitted in writing and are signed.
