Toni Walker (APU 1990 graduate, Bachelor of Arts in Management with a concentration in Travel & Hospitality Management) is one of our first alumni-owned business spotlights. As president and owner of Logistics, LLC, Toni, has more than 38 years of hospitality experience and is actively involved in the Alaska community and currently serves as a board member for Visit Anchorage and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
Toni has worked in various aspects of the tourism industry, such as hotel sales, wholesale tour operators, restaurants/bars/catering, destination management services, and meeting and event planning. These experiences allowed her to start her own company, Logistics, 29 years ago. Today, Logistics stands out in the event planning industry with a unique approach to balancing cost and service while delivering the utmost value. “We take pride in our innovative planning, from inception to execution, and our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service,” says Toni.
Her active involvement in the industry and community gives Logistics strong ties in Alaska, and she has built long-standing relationships with significant tour vendors, caterers, hotels, venues, transportation companies, and entertainers. Today, her company serves as a Destination Management Service company for large conventions and organizations as well as event and meeting planning. According to Toni, their hallmark is providing innovative, efficient programs that align with clients’ objectives. When appropriate, they offer suggestions and share resources that could be beneficial in areas beyond the scope of the assigned project. “We might recommend local vendors for catering or entertainment or provide insights on the best times of year to hold an event in Alaska. This collaborative process with our clients forms the foundation for a harmonious working relationship, commencing in the project planning stage. This partnership endures throughout the project and lays the groundwork for a long-term, mutually advantageous professional relationship and networking partner, ensuring continued success and growth for our clients,” says Toni.
