The Board of Commissioners for the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), a global accreditation body for college and university business programs, has granted APU’s Institute of Business & Public Policy (IBPP) undergraduate and graduate programs reaccreditation through 2028.
APU’s IBPP programs receiving IACBE accreditation include its undergraduate business programs (Classic, Health Care Management, and Nonprofit Management), two executive MBA programs (Strategic Leadership and Information Technology) and the Master of Business Administration with Classic, Health Services Administration, or Finance concentrations.
“The IACBE reaccreditation underscores our continual pursuit of excellence in business education with a focus on globally informed and Arctic-relevant business and public policy,” said APU Interim President Hilton Hallock. “It also reflects the high caliber of our faculty and their hard work to provide an educational experience that empowers students to build thriving and resilient Alaska communities.”
The 20-month reaccreditation process, which included a comprehensive self-study of programs and interviews of current students, alumni, faculty, facilities, and administration from IBPP representatives, found that IBPP met or exceeded IACBE principles such as outcome assessment, strategic planning, curriculum, faculty, scholarly and professional activities, and education innovation.
“Receiving IACBE reaccreditation validates the quality of our business programs that students, alumni, and the Alaska business community have come to expect from APU,” said IBPP Chair Beverly Holmes.
