This spring, Alaska Pacific University will host a peer evaluation team as part of its comprehensive Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness review by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). This accreditation process takes place every seven years; APU’s accreditation was last reaffirmed in 2015. The purpose of this review to ensure that Alaska Pacific University is fulfilling its educational mission and is in substantial compliance with NWCCU accreditation standards and policies.
To support the Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness, APU currently is conducting a self-study led by three working groups examining institutional mission and governance, student learning, and student achievement. NWCCU and APU also invite public comment on the university’s qualification for accreditation. To be considered, all comments must submitted in writing with original signature and delivered to NWCCU by February 15, 2022. Comments should be addressed to:

The reaccreditation process will include a virtual site visit by the evaluation team April 6-8, 2022. During the visit, the team will meet with students, faculty, staff and the APU Board of Trustees.
