What’s your academic background?
I graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. My master’s is in nursing education from UAA. I am particularly interested in simulation, culturally safe nursing, rural nursing, and the recruitment and retention of nursing students.
Who inspires you?
Anyone who has overcome adversity, big or small. The resiliency of the human spirit leaves me in awe and keeps my chin up.
What was the best concert you ever attended?
New Orleans Jazz Fest featuring Beastie Boys, Van Morrison, and Paul Simon
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
With my family on a warm, sunny beach or backcountry in the mountains
If you could be any animal, which would you be?
A whale. Their sense of direction, sharing of knowledge, songs, and family-centered nature speaks to me.

Nothing at the moment but winter will change that soon

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I can hypnotize myself to sleep within minutes, anywhere, anytime

The Hulk; he is just too angry for me although I can relate sometimes
