Alaska Pacific University (APU) has granted its president Valerie Nurr’araaluk Davidson a leave of absence to serve as interim president at APU’s Tribal partner, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), during this critical moment of leadership transition at ANTHC. While we will miss president Davidson’s presence and leadership during this interim period, ensuring ANTHC’s institutional stability is priority for both APU and ANTHC. Val is an extraordinary leader dedicated to empowering others and creating effective, safe, and respectful organizations, and we wish her the best with her new responsibilities. With a strong leadership team and a keen focus on our mission to provide a world-class, hands-on, culturally responsive educational experience in collaboration with our students, communities, and Tribal partners, APU will continue to thrive during her leave of absence.
We are grateful to Dr. Hilton Hallock for stepping into the role of Acting President. And we always appreciate the entire APU community for your ongoing dedication to the University, our community, and especially our students.
