Admissions Requirements
APU seeks to provide a clear admissions process through the implementation of and adherence to the application for admissions process outlined below. Please refer to the APU Catalog for more specific Admissions policies, APU courses, and degree requirements.
Undergraduate Admissions Process & Requirements
1 – Complete Online Application
You will need to create an account to begin your online application. This new username and password is only for the application and will cease to be valid once you submit the completed application.
2 – Submit Additional Supporting Documents
- Official** final high school transcript (must show date of graduation) or official GED score report
- Official** transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
3 – Check Application Deadlines
- Fall Application Deadline: May 1 (Priority)/August 1 (Late)*
- Spring Application Deadline: November 1 (Priority)/December 1 (Late)
- Summer Application Deadline: May 1 (Late)
*Alaska Native Governance and Business Administration undergraduate majors may be accepted on a space-available basis. Contact APU’s Office of Admissions for details.
Early Honors Admissions Process & Requirements
1 – Complete Online Application
You will need to create an account to begin your online application. This new username and password is only for the application and will cease to be valid once you submit the completed application.
2 – Submit Additional Supporting Documents
- Personal essay or writing sample
- Official** in-progress high school transcript (must show date of graduation) or official GED score report
3 – Check Application Deadlines*
- Fall Application Deadline: May 1 (Priority)/August 1 (Late)
- Spring Application Deadline: November 1 (Priority)/December 1 (Late)
*Applications may be accepted on a space-available basis. Contact APU’s Office of Admissions for details.
Graduate Program Admissions Process & Requirements
1 – Complete Online Application
You will need to create an account to begin your online application. This new username and password is only for the application and will cease to be valid once you submit the completed application.
2 – Submit Additional Supporting Documents
- Official** transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
- Program-Specific Supplemental documents, which may include: statement of interest, personal essay, resume, letters of recommendation, standardized test scores
3 – Check Application Deadlines*
- Fall Application Deadline: May 1 (Priority)/August 1 (Late)
- MSCP & PsyD Programs are Fall Start Only and have a February 15 Deadline
- K-8 Certification Only Option Program is a Fall Start Only
- ANELP is a Fall Start Only program
- Spring Application Deadline: November 1 (Priority)/December 1 (Late)
- Summer Application Deadline: May 1 (Late)

International Admissions Process & Requirements
1 – Complete Online Undergraduate or Graduate Application
You will need to create an account to begin your online application. This new username and password is only for the application and will cease to be valid once you submit the completed application.
2 – Submit Additional Supporting Documents
- Supplemental Application for International Students
- Official Transcripts** from all post-secondary institutions attended within or outside of the US
- Foreign credentials evaluation for all transcripts and/or degrees obtained outside the United States. For this purpose, APU recommends World Education Services (www.wes.org). Translation services may also be acquired through WES for transcripts not available in English.
- Official Test Score results from Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test System (IELTS)
- Any additional documents as required by degree program (graduate programs only)
3 – Check Application Deadlines
- Fall Application Deadline: May 1 (Priority)
- Spring Application Deadline: November 1 (Priority)
Consistent with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, we are only providing I-20s electronically. The electronic or digital travel signature will be valid for the same duration as an ink signature (12 months for F students and six months for M students.)
Non-Degree Seeking Admissions Process & Requirements
1 – Complete Online Application
You will need to create an account to begin your online application. This new username and password is only for the application and will cease to be valid once you submit the completed application.

** Transcripts are considered official when received in an envelope that was sealed by the credit-awarding institution and arrive at APU unopened. Electronic transcripts are also accepted when sent directly to APU from the credit-awarding institution via a secured electronic transcript service. All official electronic documents must be sent to admissions@alaskapacific.edu.
