Programs completed at APU: MBA, Concentration in Finance
Hometown: Anchorage, AK
What is your favorite APU memory?
It is hard to say because there have been so many. The courses provided valuable information that I actually was able to apply while working my normal 9-5 job. Some of the best memories have been at pinnacles of stress, working late on a group project with classmates. Together with my classmates, we always managed to complete assignments and progress throughout the course. I can remember working late with two classmates for our capstone project simulation. It took hours to get through all the steps to complete but, together with a lot of discussions intermingled with many jokes eventually, we succeeded in completing the project.
What is going to be your next adventure post-APU?
Well with my new “MBA” status I plan on continuing to scrape my way up the corporate ladder. With my newly acquired free time, I plan on using that on more outdoor adventures like hiking, snowboarding, and skiing.
Any words of wisdom for students working on completing their degrees?
Yes, don’t give up! Enjoy the people in your classes and foster as many positive relationships as you can. The people you meet can make even the most challenging courses enjoyable. Not to mention, they might be able to provide connections for future job opportunities.
