On June 27, APU’s Pipe and Drum band performed at their second Alaska Scottish Highland Games since the band’s founding in 2014, and brought home the state championship: first place! They won first in both the quick march medley and in the medley section as well.
The band members worked hard to achieve these awards. They practice at a strong level; members of the band often travel to other countries to perform and gain experience, and people from out of state and out of country have come up to Alaska to perform with APU’s band. There is also a children’s band for any kids interested in learning the Scottish pipes or drums. If you are interested in joining either band contact Teddy Krogh.
