Executive MBA in Information & Communication Technology

"I chose APU for its reputation and the availability of telecommunication coursework which I believed would assist me with my position at Alaska Communications Systems as well as fulfill the course requirements for my MBA. My original goal was to earn a MBA with an emphasis on technology related coursework. I envisioned that this would include Internet Marketing and E-Business but after taking telecommunication courses as electives, I decided that the more specialized master's degree fit my career goals."

The MBA in Information and Communication Technology (MBAICT) program produces managers and analysts who combine knowledge of the technical side of telecommunications (telephony, cable and broadcast television/radio, satellite and wireless communications, and all forms of data communications) with managerial and business acumen with an awareness of the pressing public policy issues that affect the telecommunications industry. The program produces managers with broad interdisciplinary expertise rather than producing individuals skilled in only one analytic approach. The study of industry change, such as the Telecommunications Act of 1996, and how to deal with it are integrated throughout all courses in the program. Special topics courses are added as necessary to respond to changes in the telecommunications industry.

"I think the most important thing to share with prospective students is that not all schools are the same when it comes to their approach to learning, and the learning experience can make all the difference in how much you value your degree."

The MBAICT program prepares you to work directly in the telecommunications field or to work for telecommunications end-users. Students pursue careers within the telecommunications field that include: market analyst, data communications specialists, strategic planner, regulatory analyst, service manager, engineer, consultant, and contractor. Students in the program share the same MBA core, and take specialized courses to graduate with a deeper understanding of the interrelationships of technology, management, and public policy.

Whether you choose APU's Information and Communication Technology MBA or instead choose to pursue the traditional MBA Program or to specialize in the areas of Health Services Administration or Global Finance, you will find at APU an ideal mix of dedicated faculty and an intimate group of professionally driven fellow students to help you to develop yourself as a world class manager or leader.
